Job Purpose
Technology Application Manager is responsible for implementation, maintenance, and support of technology applications within an organization
This involves maintaining disciplined governance, providing actionable data insights for senior management, and ensuring that projects align with the bank's financial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Governance & Compliance
Standards Enforcement: Ensure all projects adhere to the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Agile frameworks.
Audit Readiness: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and artifacts to ensure compliance with internal risk management and external regulatory standards.
Meeting Facilitation: Organise and facilitate Project Steering Committee (PSC) and Working Group (WG) meetings, including preparing executive-level materials and tracking action items.
2. Financial & Resource Management
Budget Oversight: Track project spending against budgets, manage accruals, and flag potential overruns to Project Leads.
Resource Planning: Monitor resource utilization across various squads or departments to identify bottlenecks and ensure optimal allocation.
3. Reporting & Data Analytics
Performance Dashboards: Utilize tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or internal platforms to create real-time dashboards for project KPIs, risks, and milestones.
Narrative Building: Translate complex technical progress into clear, simplified status reports for senior stakeholders (e.g., VPs and Managing Directors).
4. Risk & Issue Management (RAID)
Proactive Monitoring: Maintain and update the RAID log(Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
Escalation: Identify critical path delays and proactively escalate issues that may impact the project's market readiness or rollout.
Key Requirements
Technical Skills
Project Tools: Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and MSProject.
Data Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUPs, macros) and experience with data visualization tools.
Agile Knowledge: Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban methodologies
Soft Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Typically, 10 years of experience in PMO or Business management within a financial institution.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication, specifically the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
