To support this journey, Singtel is seeking an experienced Senior Solution Designer to join the Group IT - Corporate HR Systems team, with a focus on payroll systems.

This role will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for payroll technology, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise payroll solutions across cloud-based HR platforms. The incumbent will drive solution architecture, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and lead system enhancements while maintaining high standards of system performance, accuracy, and reliability.

The role requires close collaboration with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders, as well as external vendors, to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient payroll solutions aligned with business objectives.

Make An Impact By

Delivery & Maintenance of HR Payroll Systems (approximately 90% of time focused)

  • Design and deliver payroll solutions aligned to business requirements across SaaS platforms
  • Drive standardization and adoption of best practices across payroll processes and system implementations
  • Provide primary support for payroll systems including payroll processing cycles, integrations, data validation, and statutory configurations (e.g., taxes, compliance requirements)
  • Manage technical payroll configurations, including schemas, rules, and, ensuring system stability, data accuracy, and compliance with local regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Drive system enhancements and changes, including SIT/UAT coordination, functional documentation, and release management within packaged solution environments.

  • Perform root cause analysis to resolve complex system issues and lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance payroll and HR system performance
  • Act as the key liaison between HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders, collaborating with vendors and partners to facilitate meetings and ensure successful solution adoption.
  • Participate in bi-annual HRSP upgrades and system maintenance activities for the payroll system, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal business disruption.
  • Support penetration testing activities and audits for HR systems, ensuring compliance with security standards and addressing identified vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to application strategy, roadmap planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or enhancements to improve existing solutions

Payroll Technology Advancement & Capability Development (approximately 10% of time focused)

  • Stay updated with industry trends, payroll technologies, and SaaS platforms, or similar, and apply this knowledge to enhance existing payroll solutions
  • Continuously build and strengthen technical and functional expertise to support system upgrades, enhancements, and payroll platform improvements
  • Develop skills in cloud-based payroll platforms, integrations, and application runtime environments to support modern payroll architecture
  • Upskill on emerging technologies and tools to improve payroll system performance, scalability, and reliability.

Skills for Success

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • More than 8 years experience in IT consulting or project delivery with HRMS, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience (both functional and configuration), 2 of those supporting Singapore Payroll.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end implementation of at least 2 full cycle of payroll system.
  • Working experience with the following: Payroll Parallel Runs, Regular / Off-cycle Payroll Runs, Configuration of Payroll / Time Schemas, Tax Calculation, Payroll replications.
  • Proficiency in HR Cloud Technologies, Statutory Compliance & Payroll Regulations and Payroll Integration & Data Management
