You don't need experience in data centres but you do need experience with cross-border logistics for heavy equipment.
Job Description: Logistics Manager
Purpose
- Responsible for end-to-end supply chain coordination for international infrastructure projects
- Ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective movement of equipment from manufacturing sources to overseas project sites
- Critical for packaging compliance, freight forwarder management, and continuous process improvement
Key Accountabilities
- Packaging Compliance
- Review and approve export packaging plans from equipment manufacturers (e.g., electrical systems, mechanical units, power generation equipment)
- Ensure packaging meets international shipping standards, project specifications, and local regulations
- Verify sea freight protection measures (moisture-proofing, corrosion prevention, shock resistance)
- Logistics Coordination
- Manage full lifecycle from factory dispatch to delivery at international project sites
- Coordinate multimodal transport (land, sea, last-mile)
- Track schedules, ensure on-time delivery, and mitigate risks (delays, damage, customs issues)
- Freight Forwarder & Vendor Management
- Supervise third-party logistics providers (freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport carriers)
- Evaluate vendor performance on cost, service quality, and delivery reliability
- Lead performance reviews and enforce KPIs and contracts
- Process Development
- Develop, standardise, and optimise supply chain SOPs
- Establish workflows for packaging, transport, customs clearance, and site delivery
- Align SOPs with project execution requirements
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies
- Analyse performance data and incident reports
- Drive corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and logistics partners
- Promote continuous improvement across the supply chain
- Cross-functional Coordination
- Work with procurement, engineering, project management, and site teams to align delivery schedules and technical needs
- Support project planning with logistics timelines and cost estimates
Internal & External Partners
- Internal: Leadership, cross-functional teams
- External: Suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- Min 5 year's Logistics or supply chain management
- Must have: Cross-border logistics for heavy equipment experience
- Freight forwarding company experience
- Knowledge of international trade compliance
- International logistics processes (export/import, Incoterms, customs clearance) experience
- Packaging standards for large-scale industrial equipment
- Proficient in English and Mandarin (spoken and written)
- Strong coordination and problem-solving
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and vendors
- Data-driven with continuous improvement mindset
