Junior Data Engineer

About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated Junior Data Engineer to join our data team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will support data integration, transformation, and management processes to ensure high-quality data is available for analytics and business insights. This role is perfect for someone early in their data engineering career who is eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to understand data requirements and ensure data availability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Support database management, including data modeling, indexing, and query optimization.
- Participate in the implementation of ETL/ELT processes and data integration solutions.
- Document data processes, workflows, and technical specifications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and data modeling concepts.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, or cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Exposure to big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
