Job Description

Role Summary

As a Spare Part Material Specialist, you are responsible for managing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies. Your primary goal is to ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are available to support critical maintenance activities while optimizing inventory levels to minimize operational downtime.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the full procurement process for MRO supplies, including strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and order placement.
  • Maintain highly accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels of all MRO supplies within the Maximo System.
  • Coordinate closely with the department teams and internal requesters to identify and fulfill specific material and equipment needs.
  • Monitor and track the usage of MRO supplies to identify consumption trends and accurately forecast future requirements.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies designed to minimize costs and prevent critical stockouts.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards regarding the storage and handling of specialized MRO supplies.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to verify data accuracy and proactively resolve any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues related to delivery timelines, material quality, and competitive pricing.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on inventory health, procurement activities, and key supplier performance metrics.
  • Develop specialized MRO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide technical support to staff on these processes.
  • Execute any additional duties as assigned by the SEM Operation Lead to support site maintenance objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years in MRO procurement and inventory management.
  • Proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry operating under cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (specifically Maximo) and modern procurement processes.
  • Solid understanding of safety and regulatory requirements specifically related to MRO and spare parts management.
  • Negotiation: Effective communication and negotiation skills to manage vendor relationships and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analytical: Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven inventory optimization.
