Job Scope:

Fleet Operations & Management

  • Plan, direct, and manage the daily fleet operations to ensure timely delivery and distribution
  • Monitor fleet usage, mileage, and scheduling to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Allocate vehicles and drivers to meet operational demands

Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Track and control expenses related to fuel, repairs, maintenance, tolls, and insurance
  • Implement measures to reduce operating costs and improve fuel efficiency
  • Prepare and present fleet cost analysis and performance reports

Driver Management

  • Supervise, train, and guide drivers to maintain discipline, safety, and efficiency
  • Conduct regular driver performance evaluations and monitor compliance with company policies
  • Enforce safe driving practices and investigate traffic violations or accidents

Continuous Improvement

  • Introduce technology and systems (GPS, fleet tracking, fuel monitoring) to improve operational effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
  • Support sustainability initiatives, including fuel efficiency and alternative transport solutions

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations, licensing, and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration, road tax, insurance, and inspection schedules.
  • Update and manage fleet-related databases and reporting systems.

Maintenance & Safety

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Liaise with workshops/service providers for timely repairs and servicing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Diploma/Degree in Logistic Management or qualifications/experience in similar field
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a distribution environment, managing fleet operation, especially cold chained operations. Food Services experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, regulatory requirements, and transport compliance
  • Proficient in fleet management systems, GPS tracking, and MS Office applications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid Class 3 driving license
  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Excel (Advanced Level), and MS PowerPoint
  • Team builder, motivator, and cross-functional collaborator
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities in a varied, fast-paced environment.
