Job Description & Requirements

We are looking for a Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to oversee safety, health, and environmental compliance across our projects. This role involves conducting site inspections, implementing safety initiatives, and working closely with stakeholders and management to strengthen workplace safety culture.

The working days will be 6 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and consultation to stakeholders and management to ensure full compliance with WSH regulations, standards, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct and coordinate regular on-site inspections to audit physical conditions, safe work practices, and system compliance.
  • Identify and evaluate workplace hazards and environmental conditions, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  • Develop strategies and initiatives based on Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and WSH training to enhance workforce awareness.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, and work with management to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly WSH reports, and maintain proper HSE documentation.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Organize and conduct regular safety meetings with stakeholders.
  • Plan and implement safety initiatives such as safety campaigns, safety days, and recognition programs.
  • Support projects involving SP Group requirements.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant WSH experience, preferably in cabling or construction safety roles.
  • Strong knowledge of WSH regulations, risk assessments, and safety best practices.
  • Experience working with SP Group is an advantage.
  • Passionate about learning, growth, and improving safety culture.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and possesses a strong problem-solving mindset.
