About The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Underwriter to join our Asia Pacific treaty underwriting team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across multiple lines of business, including Property, Liability, Cyber, Motor, Marine, Structured Solutions, Agriculture, Accident, Health, and more. Key Accountabilities
In this role, you will work closely with the underwriting team to assess and manage risks while fostering strong relationships with clients and brokers. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive underwriting analysis of reinsurance treaties, assessing complex risks, and providing clear, actionable recommendations to support business objectives.
- Managing the entire underwriting process, from opportunity identification, data input, and risk analysis to deal conclusion, ensuring operational efficiency and accurate reporting.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and brokers, ensuring their needs are met through proactive communication and exceptional service.
- Collaborating with the team on deal maintenance, including data management and operational processes, to support efficient and accurate underwriting practices.
- Delivering high-quality service to clients and brokers, consistently representing Everest with professionalism and integrity.
- Contributing to business planning and research projects, staying informed of market trends and innovations that impact reinsurance practices.
- Representing Everest at internal and external meetings, actively participating in discussions with brokers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
- Participating in business travel as required to support client relationships, foster business development, and attend relevant meetings.
Professional Qualifications And Experience
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent technical and interpersonal skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Key qualifications include:
- 2 to 5 years of reinsurance underwriting experience, ideally within reinsurance companies. Relevant experience from reinsurance broking firms, consulting companies, managing general agents (MGAs), or insurers will also be considered.
- A Bachelor's degree is required. Progress toward Actuarial, Financial, or professional Insurance qualifications, or a Master's degree, will be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to take initiative and operate independently while upholding the highest ethical standards.
