Job Description

Our client, a well-established organization within the maritime industry, is seeking a Technical Superintendent to oversee vessel operations and ensure optimal technical performance across its fleet. This role is suited for a proactive and communicative individual who is confident managing both onshore stakeholders and seafaring crew in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical management of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and company standards.
  • Plan and execute dry docking projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with shipyards and vendors.
  • Monitor vessel performance, maintenance schedules, and repair works to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crew, ensuring timely resolution of onboard issues.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as charterers, classification societies, and service providers to ensure smooth vessel operations.
  • Manage and control technical budgets, including procurement and inventory of spare parts.
  • Conduct vessel inspections and audits to maintain high standards of safety and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support overall fleet operations and business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 1 is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant shore-based experience in a similar capacity.
  • Hands-on experience managing at least one full dry-docking project.
  • Prior experience with gas and/or tanker vessels is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and crew members.
  • Well-spoken and confident, with the ability to represent the organization professionally.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
