Job Description

In this role, you will be the backbone of our technical operations, ensuring we maintain our hard-earned reputation as the shipper of choice. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor Class and Flag State survey requirements to ensure all vessel certificates remain valid.
  • Manage the planned maintenance scheme and provide technical consultancy for vessel repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee the entire drydocking process from initial specification and costing to on-site supervision.
  • Evaluate and recommend approvals for store and spare part requisitions to optimize fleet supply chains.
  • Monitor and analyze vessel performance data including drydock costs, bunker usage, and lubricant oil consumption.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of vessels to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and address defects in line with Class and charterer requirements.
  • Coach and mentor technical procurement staff and senior Ship Officers including masters and Chief Engineers.
  • Assist with technical specifications for new buildings, vessel conversions, and sale and purchase inspections.

Requirements

  • Possess a Certificate of Competency (Class I) / Chief Engineer Foreign Going.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a superintendent or 6 months as a Chief Engineer on company vessels.
  • At least 5 years of tanker experience is mandatory for positions within our tanker fleets.
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex technical costs.
  • Strong people management skills with experience in conducting performance appraisals and monitoring KPIs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with an independent and resourceful mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict operational deadlines.
