Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair onboard electrical, electronic, automation, navigation, communication, and control systems.
- Ensure the safe and reliable operation of DP systems and other mission-critical electrical equipment.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Attend to electrical and control system defects promptly and ensure proper rectification.
- Monitor the performance and condition of electrical equipment and report any abnormalities or recurring issues.
- Coordinate with the Master, Chief Engineer, and shore-based technical team on electrical and DP-related matters.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance, repairs, service reports, and spare parts usage.
- Assist in the planning and monitoring of electrical spare parts and ensure critical spares are available onboard.
- Support vessel inspections, audits, surveys, and servicing of electrical and electronic equipment.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company procedures, safety standards, class, flag state, and statutory requirements.
- Assist with troubleshooting during equipment breakdowns and support root cause analysis where required.
- Keep technical manuals, drawings, and equipment documentation updated and properly maintained onboard.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Electrical Engineering, Electro-Technical, or a related discipline
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of onboard DP2 / DP3vessels as ETO
- Strong hands-on experience and technical knowledge in electrical systems, DP systems, automation, navigation communication, and shipboard electronics.
- Willingness to travel at short notice, including overseas assignments, and to work outside regular business hours as required to support vessels across multiple time zones.
- Able to work independently, manage priorities, and respond to operational and technical issues in a timely manner
- Ability to work effectively with teams from diverse backgrounds and across different locations.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred/ required, as the role involves frequent liaison with Taiwan-based stakeholders, vessel personnel, service providers, and relevant local authorities
- Salary will be commensurate with experience
