TECHNICAL MARKET DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Job Summary
You will provide expert technical support and project coordination to steel mills and supply chains worldwide, focusing on niobium-containing products. This role involves solving production challenges, managing budgets, and leading international technical collaborations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical assistance to steel mills, new customers, and end-users to solve production problems, enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve productivity and stability
- Coordinate structural steel projects and manage associated budget planning
- Research market scenarios to identify customer needs and growth opportunities
- Develop and share insights on market demand, trends, and technology requirements with customers
- Lead coordination of technical projects and technology development with companies, universities, research centers, and customers
- Manage niobium technology activities including monitoring, transfer, implementation, development, promotion, documentation, and dissemination
- Conduct frequent international business trips, primarily to emerging markets such as India and Southeast Asia, to engage with steel mills and partners
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Materials, Metallurgy, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience working in steel mills with strong knowledge of steel products and production processes including steelmaking, continuous casting, hot rolling, finishing, welding, and heat treatments
- Proven expertise in steel characterization techniques such as microstructure analysis and mechanical testing, with experience interacting directly with rolling mill production
- Strong understanding of niobium's role in microalloyed steels experience with niobium, titanium, and vanadium microalloyed steels is highly advantageous
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Materials or Metallurgy
- Advanced project management skills to implement and monitor action plans, identify deviations, and propose corrective measures
- Ability to build effective working relationships across diverse groups including customers, sales teams, production operators, and industry leaders
- Fluency in English to communicate complex technical information clearly in an international context
