Senior Production Planner

Key Responsibilities

• Perform order verification and ensure data integrity by validating production orders released by Material Planner including Master Data, BOMs, and routing accuracy in MES

• Develop and maintain production schedules across diverse manufacturing processes, balancing workload between automated (laser/NCT) and manual (welding/assembly) operations

• Conduct real-time resource and material availability checks using SAP, and coordinate with Warehouse, Material Planner, and Procurement teams to ensure production readiness

• Partner with Production Supervisors to execute daily production plans and ensure adherence to schedules implement recovery actions for deviations

• Monitor real-time production status via MES to identify bottlenecks and proactively adjust schedules to mitigate delays

• Oversee system lifecycle activities and financial closing, ensuring accurate recording of labour, material, and scrap data in MES and SAP

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimising nesting strategies, batch sizes, and changeover processes to reduce lead time and waste

• Support cross-site capacity planning initiatives (e.g. Singapore and Malaysia), optimising machine and labour resources to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

• Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), capacity utilisation, and production variance

• Provide data-driven insights and reports to support operational and management decision-making

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline

• Minimum 10 years of experience in production planning, preferably in sheet metal fabrication or precision machining industries

• Strong proficiency in SAP (PP and MM modules) and hands-on experience with MES systems

• Good understanding of fabrication processes such as nesting, cutting, bending, CNC, welding, and assembly

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and shop floor personnel

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Willing to work overtime when required to meet production deadlines or support month-end closing

• Able to respond to urgent production issues outside of standard working hours when necessary
