The Periodic Review Team Lead will be a senior member of the Asia Business Risk & Compliance Management team and should possess in-depth knowledge of periodic review and ongoing name screening, including regulatory requirements, compliance monitoring and review programs.
Your role
- Lead and manage the Periodic Review Team
- Be the senior member of the team, lead and oversee the effective delivery of Periodic Review (PR) for the Bank.
- Serve as the process owner for PR, with end-to-end accountability for the design, implementation, maintenance, and effectiveness of PR processes and controls, ensuring compliance with local regulatory obligations and internal governance standards.
- Oversee day to day PR operations, ensuring dynamic management of priorities, timely and accurate completion of PR.
- Perform periodic reviews for existing client relationships and address new or incremental KYC/CDD risks, ensuring timely closure.
- Perform refresh due diligence searches (Google, World-Check, Factiva) and transaction reviews to ensure activities align with client risk profiles; investigate suspicious transactions
- Identify and escalate potential AML risks, red flags, and unusual activities.
- Be the first of point of contact for the Front Office on periodic review submissions, including KYC updates, account structure changes, and adverse news handling.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries, requests on control testing and audits in relation to PR matters in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support team members by assisting with other AML activities, such as transaction monitoring, during periods of high workload to help achieve team objectives.
- Manage and participate in non-core tasks and other projects or assignments as required.
- Foster a positive compliance culture within the Bank through proactive advice, effective communication, and training.
Your profile
- University degree.
- Professional certifications in Financial Crime or AML are advantageous.
- Minimum of 12 years experience in transaction monitoring or compliance, preferably within Wealth Management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently conduct in-depth analysis on compliance matters, particularly in transaction monitoring and name screening.
- Self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Well-organized and detail oriented.
- Effective team player.
- Good presentation skills.
- Proficient in common IT applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Factiva and World-Check.
