DBS Institutional Banking Group (IBG) provides corporate clients with a full range of commercial and investment banking solutions, including cash management and yield enhancement services, corporate treasury and FX services, credit solutions, capital markets and M&A advisory. DBS has cultivated long-standing relationships in Asia based on unique service differentiation and innovative product development.
DEG is a specialised high growth sector coverage team within IBG's Telecom, Media, and Tech (TMT) industry group. Our key mission is to provide DBS services to new economy companies and ecosystem players, including venture capital partners, across DBS core markets. We act as strategic advisors, delivering DBS bespoke solutions tailored to the unique and dynamic needs of these rapidly evolving businesses, enabling them to scale rapidly.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and evaluate opportunities across the new economy sector by leveraging senior relationships with founders, CEOs, CXOs, and venture capital investors.
- Drive client engagement and thought leadership through the preparation and presentation of senior-level materials spanning fundraising, debt solutions, and broader corporate finance initiatives.
- Oversee transaction execution across due diligence, market and sector analysis, financial modelling, structuring, and development of relevant discussion materials.
- Support commercial negotiations and the preparation of principal transaction documentation, including confidentiality agreements, term sheets, and related deal materials.
- Direct coverage over new economy clients in Singapore and support origination and execution efforts across oversea markets.
- Provide clear and effective updates to senior management, contributing to business planning, governance, and strategic decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior bankers, while fostering strong execution discipline and team performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- 10–12 years of relevant experience in commercial banking, investment banking, venture capital, corporate finance, accounting, or within a high-growth new economy business.
- Demonstrated experience in credit assessment, structuring, and execution of financing transactions.
- Strong understanding of the digital economy landscape, with a well-established network among founders, growth-stage companies, and venture capital investors.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation, and financial modelling skills, including strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple stakeholders, and work effectively across diverse teams.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to manage competing priorities with a high degree of independence.
