The Safety Assurance Centre (SAC) supports major Land Defence Systems programmes by ensuring that safety is built into systems from concept through operations. We work closely with project, system, software, and hardware engineers to identify and manage safety risks across the full system life cycle.
We are looking for System Safety Engineers / Senior Engineers who are keen to develop their careers in system safety engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of system safety activities for assigned projects, guided by established processes and experienced safety engineers.
- Work as part of multidisciplinary project teams, collaborating with system, software, hardware, and project engineers.
- Assist in identifying hazards and safety risks across systems, software, hardware, human, and operational aspects.
- Help maintain hazard logs, safety records, and safety documents using approved tools and templates.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of safety documents such as:
- System Safety Programme Plans
- Hazard Analyses
- Safety Assessment Reports
- Participate in project discussions, safety reviews, and audits, and learn how safety decisions are made at key project milestones.
- Raise potential safety concerns early and support resolution with guidance from senior engineers.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Interest in system safety, risk management, or safety‑critical systems.
- Basic understanding of engineering systems and how different subsystems interact.
- Willingness to learn and apply structured engineering and safety processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- A safety‑conscious and responsible mindset.
