Our client is a startup developing next-generation quantum sensors for exploration and navigation.
These sensors measure gravity, acceleration, and rotation with up to 1000x greater precision than the current state of the art. Their technology is built on cold atom interferometry.
They are seeking a Senior Cold Atom Physicist who:
- Eager to conduct research while skillfully navigating the practical challenges of field deployment
- Motivated by the opportunity to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team of electronics, mechanical, and software engineers
- Interested in taking ownership of their work with the added benefit of attractive equity options
Responsibilities:
- Design and development of atom interferometry based sensors
- Work in collaboration with electronics engineers and mechanical engineers to develop the system
- Research on the improvement and miniaturization of atom interferometry based sensors
- Write patents
Must have skills:
- PhD in Physics, with research experience in cold atom physics
- Proficient in experimental work, better if atom-interferometry
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Fluency in spoken and written English
Nice to have skills:
- Proven track record in developing interferometry-based instruments such as gravimeters, accelerometers, or gyroscopes
- Expertise in building near-infrared lasers, implementing laser locking systems, and designing RF electronics
- Experience in theoretical modeling and simulation of atomic systems
- Developed control system using FPGA
