Job Description - Senior / Occupational Therapist
Join Our Team at St John's Home for Elderly Persons
Since 1958, St John's Home for Elderly Persons has served as a reputable Sheltered Home for seniors under the Ministry of Social and Family Affairs (MSF). As we prepare to transition into a Nursing Home under the Ministry of Health (MOH) by 2026, we invite dedicated professionals to join our team as Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Successful candidates will play an integral role in shaping the direction of our rehabilitation services, delivering quality care to our residents and their families across both Nursing Home and Centre-based settings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Report directly to the Director of Nursing or Clinical Governance Officer (CGO).
2. Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to assess residents and formulate care plans aimed at enhancing mobility and functional abilities.
3. Implement exercises and activities that promote independence and improve residents functional skills.
4. Educating residents techniques for completing tasks or adapting environments to suit residents needs.
5. Provide leadership and guidance to Therapy Assistants to ensure delivery of high-quality care.
6. Develop Rehabilitation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that are compliant with the Healthcare Services Act (HCSA).
7. Ensure adherence to established clinical protocols and service standards.
8. Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and timely documentation.
9. Facilitate training sessions for therapists, support staff, and healthcare professionals.
10. Plan and implement funded projects to support organisational objectives.
11. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in relevant research activities.
12. Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, CGO, or Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Requirements:
. Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
. Registered with Singapore's Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).
. Possess valid BCLS Certification.
. Minimum of three years relevant experience in healthcare or eldercare settings.
. Demonstrates strong adaptability to change.
. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
. Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Advantages:
