We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer / Supervisor to join our client.
This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of all mechanical assets at the facility. The ideal candidate will oversee both static and rotating equipment maintenance activities, including but not limited to high-pressure pumps, compressors, piping systems, valves, pressure vessels, mechanical arms, and structural components.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all mechanical maintenance operations to ensure compliance with internal procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the troubleshooting, repair, commissioning, and replacement of mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, pressure equipment, storage tanks, and piping.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and update maintenance plans and schedules, minimizing production downtime and improving overall efficiency.
- Monitor and analyse equipment performance, identifying issues and implementing improvement measures to enhance reliability and reduce costs.
- Ensure mechanical maintenance practices align with company engineering standards and comply with relevant regulations and industry codes.
- Prepare preventive maintenance checklists, method statements, and risk assessments as needed.
- Drive performance improvements through KPI tracking and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training for technicians.
- Assist with spare parts and inventory management, including stock counts, critical spare assessments, procurement, and replenishment activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance in oil, gas or petrochemical environments.
- Solid understanding of local engineering standards, regulatory codes, and inspection protocols.
- Industry certifications (e.g., API, vibration analysis) are advantageous.
- Hands-on expertise in maintaining and repairing a variety of complex mechanical systems, including compressors, engines, valves, and structural components.
- Candidates with proven leadership or supervisory experience will be considered for the Supervisor position.
