Job Description
Senior Manager, Strategic Clients
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead successful Oracle HCM Cloud implementations for customers while also partnering with Sales and Consulting leadership to drive new services opportunities and expansion across existing accounts. This role blends strong delivery leadership (scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk) with client-facing commercial acumen (discovery, solution shaping, estimates, statements of work, and renewals/expansions).
Key Responsibilities
Program/Project Delivery (Oracle HCM)
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Oracle HCM Cloud implementations (and related HCM capabilities) using Oracle's delivery methodology.
- Own project governance: establish project plans, status reporting, steering committees, and executive communications.
- Manage project scope, schedule, resourcing, and financials; ensure delivery meets contractual commitments and customer outcomes.
- Partner with functional and technical leads to coordinate design, build, integrations, testing, security, data conversion, training, cutover, and hypercare.
- Drive disciplined change control, manage dependencies across client teams and third parties, and proactively mitigate risks/issues.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, compliance requirements, and documentation expectations.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery concerns and help resolve complex cross-functional issues.
- Build trusted relationships with customer executives and workstream leads; facilitate decision-making and maintain alignment on outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Consulting, Product, Support, Customer Success) to ensure a cohesive customer experience.
Pre-Sales, Growth & Commercial Support
- Support new sales and expansion opportunities by leading discovery workshops, shaping delivery approach, and contributing to solution proposals.
- Develop project estimates, delivery timelines, resource plans, and inputs to SOWs / order forms; review assumptions, risks, and dependencies.
- Identify follow-on opportunities during delivery (additional modules, optimization, integrations, analytics, managed services) and partner with Sales to qualify and progress pipeline.
- Contribute to account planning and customer roadmap discussions; help position Oracle as a strategic partner.
People/Leadership
- Provide leadership, mentorship and direction to cross-functional project teams (Consulting resources, partners, subcontractors) and promote standard processes, templates, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive team environment focused on customer success and predictable delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of project/program management experience delivering enterprise software implementations.
- 3+ years leading HCM implementations (Oracle HCM preferred); experience across multiple workstreams/modules strongly desired.
- Proven track record delivering complex, multi-workstream projects.
- Strong experience with project governance, executive communications, risk management, and change control.
- Demonstrated ability to support pre-sales activities including discovery, estimation, proposal inputs, and SOW development.
- Strong customer-facing presence with excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
Key Competencies
- Customer obsession and executive-level communication
- Commercial mindset (pipeline thinking, value articulation, scope discipline)
- Delivery rigor (predictable execution, documentation, governance)
- Ability to influence without authority across matrixed organizations
- Analytical problem solving and decision facilitation
