Job Summary

Senior Manager, Procurement (Direct Material) would lead and manage direct material procurement across regional operations, driving strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and cost optimisation. This role ensures supply continuity, supports manufacturing and project needs, and develops a high‑performing team to achieve business goals in a complex, global environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional direct material sourcing strategies aligned with business and operational goals.
  • Lead procurement activities to optimise cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
  • Manage supplier sourcing, evaluation, qualification, and long‑term relationship development.
  • Drive commercial negotiations, including pricing, contracts, and strategic agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans based on KPIs and business needs.
  • Ensure procurement supports project timelines, manufacturing continuity, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Logistics.
  • Analyse procurement data to identify cost savings, risks, and efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing procurement team across regional operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, governance standards, and risk management practices.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in strategic procurement or direct material sourcing.
  • Proven leadership experience managing procurement teams in regional or global environments.
  • Strong experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and sourcing strategy development.
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial procurement environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and commercial decision‑making skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management across cross‑functional teams.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, matrix organisation environment.
  • Willingness to travel regionally as required.
