Since 1958, St John's Home for Elderly Persons has served as a reputable Sheltered Home for seniors under the Ministry of Social and Family Affairs (MSF). As we prepare to transition into a Nursing Home under the Ministry of Health (MOH) by2026, we invite dedicated persons to join our team as Senior / Healthcare Assistants. Successful candidates will play an integral role in shaping the direction of our Nursing services, delivering quality care to our residents and their families across both Nursing Home and Centre-based settings.

Key Responsibilities:

The Healthcare Assistant supports and assists Registered Nurses (RN) and Enrolled Nurses (EN) in the delivery of nursing care to residents, while helping to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

.Complying with approved standards of nursing practice and organizational policies

.Participating in quality improvement activities to enhance resident care

.Attending to residents needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being, and reporting any changes or concerns to the nurse

.Checking, monitoring, and accurately recording residents vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure

.Providing personal care and maintaining residents hygiene, including bed baths/shower baths, changing of clothing and bed linen, and keeping residents clean and dry

.Assisting with the transfer, mobilization and positioning of non-ambulant residents

.Supporting residents in daily exercise and mobility activities

.Assisting in serving meals and drinks including feeding residents when required

.Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of care provided

.Assisting nurses in nursing care procedures, such as care of residents with urinary catheters

.Accompanying residents during outings and external activities

.Promptly alerting nurses to emergencies or changes in residents conditions

.Working collaboratively with nurses to maintain a safe, clean, and conducive environment within the nursing home

.Carrying out any other duties as assigned by Nurses, Senior/Nurse Clinicians, the Director of Nursing (DON), or the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
