Our Pricing Team is involved in a wide variety of projects, including pricing large and complex accounts, analyzing and advising on delegated authority portfolios, creating and developing pricing tools and wider projects such as portfolio management and planning. Our everyday involvement throughout the markets we support helps us influence and shape the performance of the business.

Working as part of a global team you will work with Underwriters, management and senior actuarial team members on a daily basis

What You'll Be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include

  • Estimate technical premiums with the underwriters on individual insureds
  • Create new or update existing rating models for delegated authority portfolios
  • Research validity of assumptions within global pricing models and updating parameter analysis.
  • Provide challenge on reserving assumptions, methodology and results to improve the accuracy of reserves
  • Design and produce management information to assist underwriters and the management team
  • Assist with producing recommendations for the base loss ratio as part of the business/strategic planning exercises
  • Audit the rate change and profitability measures being recorded
  • Provision of data for external regulator and actuarial review for capital setting and valuation purposes
  • Assist with quarterly monitoring process of delegated authority portfolio, produce summaries for underwriters
  • Assist with development of enhanced natural catastrophe pricing methodologies

You will report to the Head of Pricing, APAC.

What You Will BRING

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Previous experience of non-life insurance pricing, particularly in P&C lines
  • Working knowledge of programming in SQL, R or Python, VBA
  • Familiar with data visualization tool such as Power BI
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across teams
  • Good organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritise a busy workload
  • Enthusiastic individual who is detail oriented, and keen to learn and develop
  • making good progress through actuarial exams with intention to qualify
