Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and manage the commercial aspects of industrial laser and automation machinery projects, ensuring seamless execution from sales to final delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers as the primary contact for all commercial and project-related inquiries
- Translate customer needs into clear project requirements to guide successful project delivery
- Manage customer expectations to ensure project deliverables meet satisfaction and contractual obligations
- Drive the sales process by generating leads, conducting discovery, delivering technical presentations, creating proposals, and negotiating contracts for custom automation and laser system projects
- Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal project teams to facilitate communication and project alignment
- Conduct regular project reviews with customers post-sale to track progress, manage expectations, and address scope changes or delays
- Ensure smooth transition of projects from sales to execution by documenting and communicating all contractual, technical, and delivery requirements
- Collaborate with Technical Project Managers to manage customer-driven scope changes, negotiate change orders, and assess financial impacts
- Apply basic knowledge and strong conceptual understanding of industrial laser technology and automation systems to evaluate and select appropriate laser components for projects
- Identify project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions to maintain project timelines and quality
- Communicate the value proposition and technical capabilities of laser and automation solutions effectively to customers
- Lead and motivate project teams to achieve objectives while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members to enhance team performance and development
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales project management, preferably within the laser industry
- Proven track record of successful project delivery
- Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline, negotiate effectively, and close deals
- Strong technical knowledge of laser systems and applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and to India up to 50% of the time
- Proficiency in Mandarin to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking clients
