Job Overview
As a Sales Engineer, you will be trained to become a consultative, solution-based sales professional supporting customers across manufacturing and industrial sectors. You will work closely with clients to understand their challenges and recommend suitable technical solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and reliability.
This role offers structured, paid training and clear development into a professional technical sales career. No prior product knowledge is required - comprehensive training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend paid product and application training at the company's Singapore Head Office (3-6 months).
- Develop a strong understanding of products, technologies, and applications through structured training and on-the-job exposure.
- Visit customers at manufacturing sites (approximately 3 days per week) to understand their needs and challenges.
- Provide technical consultation and solution recommendations.
- Build, develop, and manage customer relationships within an assigned sales territory.
- Secure new customers and grow existing accounts.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries and follow up on proposals.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to territory growth and market share.
- Plan and manage daily activities independently with minimal supervision.
- Support product launches, off-site seminars, and trade shows when required.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
- Strong interest in sales, technology, and problem-solving.
- Willingness to learn and master technical products and applications.
- Comfortable working in manufacturing and industrial environments.
- Travel: Around 60% of the time (local travel occasional overnight stays)
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to understand and address customer needs.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and hardworking.
- Able to manage time effectively and work independently.
- Valid Class 3 Driving Licence preferred.
