Sales Assistant Manager, Ocean Freight Ocean Bulk

JOB SUMMARY:

This role specialises in Reefer &Liquid solutions across food, chemicals and energy sectors. It will focus on developing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts.

This role requires a strong hunter instinct, deep market awareness, and the ability to understand customer requirements in reefer & bulk liquid transportation. Technical training on specific solutions (reefer, flexi-tanks, ISO tanks, and other liquid transport methods) will be provided, but prior knowledge of freight forwarding and industry segments is essential.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

• Drive new business development in food, chemical, and energy markets
• Expand trade lanes and service offerings with existing customers
• Manage inherited accounts while actively prospecting for new clients
• Understand customer requirements and match them with freight forwarding solutions
• Upsell value-added services such as door-to-door, heating, recycling and disposal capabilities
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities
• Achieve sales targets and report performance metrics regularly

YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma with 35 years of sales experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain
• Strong hunter instinct with proven success in new customer acquisition
• Knowledge of food, chemical, and energy sectors, including compliance requirements
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to balance account management with new business growth
