The Enviroment, Safety and Health (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for supporting Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) compliance for Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) projects at construction sites. The role assists in implementing safety policies, monitoring site safety practices, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, project specifications, and company safety standards.
This position works closely with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and workers to promote a strong safety culture and maintain a safe working environment throughout project execution.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing and enforcing Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures at construction sites for ACMV projects
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and relevant regulations
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures
- Support preparation and review of Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Job Safety Analyses (JSA)
- Monitor compliance with permit-to-work systems, lifting operations, work-at-height controls, and confined space requirements (where applicable)
- Coordinate and conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and safety awareness activities
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses prepare reports and follow up on corrective actions
- Maintain proper safety documentation, records, and statutory reports
- Liaise with main contractors, consultants, clients, and relevant authorities on safety-related matters
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure adherence to site safety rules
- Support emergency preparedness planning and drills
- Promote continuous improvement of safety standards and practices on-site
- Comply with company policies and project safety requirements
Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree in Workplace Safety and Health, Engineering, or related fields
- Possess valid WSH Coordinator certification recognised under Singapore regulations
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in WSH coordination within construction site environments
- Experience in ACMV, mechanical, or building services projects will be advantageous
- Good knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and subsidiary legislation
- Familiarity with risk assessment processes and construction safety management systems
- Strong observational, analytical, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project team environment
- Demonstrates clear communication and coordination skills
- Shows integrity, accountability, and professionalism in safety matters
