Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant in the Human Potential Translational Research Programme (HPTRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The HPTRP aims to bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines with an interest to maximise human potential. In HPTRP, focusing only on human studies, we aim to adopt a holistic perspective that considers human potential as an integrative measure of health, productivity, performance, human capital and overall well-being over the lifespan, in our environment. Appointments will be made on one-year contract, with the possibility of one-year extension.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant will be responsible to provide research administrative/secretariat support such as Institutional Review Board (IRB) application/management, tracking of research Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), implementation of research governance and communication activities for ongoing research studies.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Research Assistant will:

  1. Prepare study-related ethics applications such as amendments, non-compliance-protocol deviations, status renewals
  2. Maintain and organise Investigator Site Files (ISFs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for timely documentation of ongoing studies
  3. Coordinate orientation/ training, ensuring compliance with required certifications (e.g. Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI))
  4. Conduct internal quality check and support audits related to research ethics and regulatory compliance
  5. Provide administrative support and coordination within the study governance framework and work directly with study Principal Investigators and researchers
  6. Track and report study performance metrics such as bibliometrics and other key indicators
  7. Support development of study retention strategies
  8. Create and manage content for website and social media platforms, including articles, graphics etc. and
  9. Perform other ad hoc duties related to research administration.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field
  2. Prior experience in in research, preferably involving human subjects, is an advantage
  3. Excellent time management and organisational skills
  4. Strong communication and written skills
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and
  6. Familiarity with social media platforms and design tools is an added advantage.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
