About the Role
The company is a well-established engineering firm in Singapore, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to manage project costs, tendering, contract administration, and value engineering for high-tech factory, commercial, and data-centre projects. The role ensures projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and associated costs
- Perform quantity take-offs for materials and labour for MEP installations
- Collaborate with project teams for accurate quantity assessments
- Develop and manage project budgets, monitor cost variations, and recommend cost-saving measures
- Assist in preparing tender documents and participate in procurement processes
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for competitiveness and compliance
- Administer and manage contracts for MEP works, including variations, claims, and disputes
- Identify cost optimization opportunities and implement value engineering solutions
- Identify potential cost and contract risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Generate regular cost reports and provide analysis and recommendations
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders attend project meetings
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and MEP standards
- Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance projects and other ad-hoc duties
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial, commercial, or data-centre projects
- Strong working knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical works
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and adaptability
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and demonstrate initiative and commitment
