Quantity Surveyor (QS) - Design & Build Company

We are a growing Design & Build company looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS) with at least 3 years of relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will support tendering, cost estimation, BOQ preparation, material sourcing, and quotation management for commercial, retail, and interior fit-out projects.

Key Responsibilities

Tender & Costing

• Review tender drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and competitive quotations.
• Analyze project scope and identify cost risks / opportunities.
• Work closely with management to strategize pricing for tenders.

BOQ & Measurement

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, and material schedules.
• Verify measurements from drawings and site conditions.
• Track variations and additional works costing.

Procurement & Sourcing

• Source for subcontractors, suppliers, and materials at competitive rates.
• Request quotations, compare prices, and negotiate costs.
• Build and maintain strong supplier / vendor relationships.

Project Cost Control

• Monitor project budgets and material usage.
• Assist project team in controlling costs during execution.
• Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.

Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with designers, project managers, suppliers, and contractors.
• Prepare regular cost reports and tender summaries.
• Ensure quotations are aligned with design intent and construction practicality.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of QS experience, preferably in interior fit-out / design & build / construction industry.
• Strong knowledge in costing, BOQ, tender submissions, and procurement.
• Good understanding of construction materials and market rates.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD (basic understanding preferred), and QS software.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
