Overview

The incumbent will work closely with allied health leads to oversee system monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, documentation, and vendor coordination. This is a role with exposure to operational tasks such as procurement, policy and workflow reviews, and audits. The role also provides opportunities to support future campus development and contribute to the continuous evolution of allied health informatics.

Key Responsibilities

Primary (80%)

  • Plan, implement, and manage IT system upgrades, schedules, and resource allocation, working closely with vendors and end users.
  • Lead annual IT workplan submissions, acquisitions, and implementation in consultation with department leads.
  • Manage IT-related planning and execution for allied health systems at the upcoming campus.
  • Serve as Credential Trainer for EPIC modules and provide training for new users.
  • Review and handle EPIC change requests, perform build fixes, and implement user-driven enhancements.
  • Oversee integration between internal and external systems, ensuring compliance with security requirements.
  • Contribute to strategic IT planning and cloud-based system enhancements for cost-effective service delivery.
  • Automate workflows and upgrade systems to meet evolving requirements.
  • Administer servers, workstations, and LAN-based equipment for allied health departments.
  • Support procurement of systems and accessories, statistical reporting, data compilation, and audit activities.
  • Maintain contracts, manage vendor relations, and ensure timely system updates.
  • Review and implement IT SOPs per MOH, cluster, and Synapxe directives, including business continuity.
  • Conduct regular IT audits for allied health departments.

Secondary (20%)

  • Recommend and support AI-driven solutions to enhance business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
  • Manage KPI tracking for cluster and institutional initiatives.
  • Participate in informatics projects and cross-institutional harmonisation efforts.
  • Contribute to workflow improvements and support other assignments delegated by reporting officer.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or healthcare-related studies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare informatics systems or relevant IT roles.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Prior experience with EPIC systems (highly advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing, DICOM, HL7 standards, LAN/WAN, and internet connectivity.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, procurement processes, and IT security policies.
  • Proficient in network security, firewall administration, and system integrations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
