A leading international energy trading company with a strong presence in Asia is looking to strengthen its trading operations team in Singapore. This role sits close to the commercial desk and supports the end-to-end execution of physical refined products trades, working closely with traders, shipping teams, and external counterparties across the full trade lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support the operational execution of physical refined products trades, from contract confirmation through to settlement
- Coordinate import and export cargo movements, including vessel nominations, scheduling, and cargo tracking
- Liaise with surveyors, terminals, shipowners, agents, and trade counterparties to ensure smooth cargo execution
- Monitor laytime calculations and demurrage exposure
- Prepare and manage shipping and trade documentation in line with contractual requirements
- Update trading and operations systems, ensuring accurate operational records
- Work closely with traders, shipping, risk, and finance teams to ensure seamless coordination across the trade lifecycle
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in physical oil trading operations
- Experience supporting refined products, fuel oil, or petroleum trading desks
- Exposure to petchem or naphtha cargoes would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of cargo execution, shipping processes, and trade documentation
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced trading environment
