A Motor Painting and Wrapping Specialist is responsible for transforming and protecting vehicles through professional paint jobs, vinyl wrapping, and finishing techniques. They ensure high-quality workmanship, precision, and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and efficiency in all tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Preparation
- Inspect vehicles and assess surface conditions before painting or wrapping.
- Remove dirt, grease, rust, or old paint/wraps using cleaning, sanding, or chemical solutions.
- Mask or tape off areas not to be painted or wrapped (e.g., windows, trims, lights).
- Smooth and prime surfaces to ensure flawless adhesion.
Painting
- Mix and match automotive paints to achieve desired color and finish.
- Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat using spray guns or other techniques.
- Ensure uniform coverage, proper curing, and adherence to brand or client specifications.
- Perform touch-ups and polish to achieve a showroom-quality finish.
Wrapping
- Measure, cut, and apply vinyl wraps to motorcycles, scooters, or other vehicles.
- Use heat guns and application tools to stretch and position wraps smoothly without bubbles or creases.
- Apply full wraps, partial wraps, decals, or custom graphics as requested.
- Ensure durability and aesthetic appeal while following manufacturer guidelines.
Quality Control & Finishing
- Inspect completed work for imperfections and correct them.
- Perform finishing touches such as polishing, waxing, or ceramic coatings.
- Maintain a clean and dust-free work environment to ensure high-quality results.
Customer Service & Communication
- Discuss color, finish, and design preferences with customers.
- Provide recommendations on materials, durability, and maintenance.
- Update customers on timelines and progress.
Safety & Maintenance
- Follow safety standards when handling paints, solvents, and tools.
- Maintain equipment such as spray guns, heat guns, and cutting tools.
- Keep inventory of paints, wraps, and consumables organized.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and eye for color matching.
- 5 Yers Experience with automotive painting, spray techniques, and wrapping tools.
- Ability to work with precision under time constraints.
- Creativity in design and customization.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and handling of chemicals.
