Job Description
The Machining Operator / Tool Setter is responsible for performing machining, tool setting, and related production tasks within a semiconductor precision engineering environment. The role supports assembly, machining, and tool room operations in accordance with engineering requirements, work instructions, and company quality standards.
The role involves hands-on operation and setup of CNC machines and requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform machining, tool setting, and assembly-related tasks in machining, assembly, and tool room areas as assigned
- Set up and operate CNC machines (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis) in accordance with work instructions and engineering requirements
- Follow and execute work instructions, OMS procedures (for assembly-related processes), and supervisor directions accurately
- Ensure all completed work meets required quality standards, with zero defects during internal inspection and customer audits
- Complete assigned tasks within required cycle time and production schedules
- Identify, report, and escalate any machine abnormalities, tooling issues, or non-conformities during operations
- Support basic machine setup, tooling preparation, and adjustments as required
- Maintain strict compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and ESD/cleanroom standards (if applicable)
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in the working area
- Perform any ad-hoc duties or assignments as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements
- Minimum GCE N Level or equivalent
- Certification in Precision Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering is preferred
- At least 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing or precision engineering environment
- Familiar with CNC machining (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis machines)
- Experience in semiconductor or high-precision engineering environment is an advantage
- Ability to read and understand basic English instructions, drawings, and work documents
- Able to work and collaborate with different functional teams/Team Player
- Strong willingness to learn new skills and adapt to process changes or ad-hoc tasks
- Strong discipline, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety standards
- Willing to work in the East region (Changi North Crescent, Singapore)
- Willing to work on shift duties
- On-the-job training will be provided
