Job Description

Role Overview

The M&E Engineer (Night Shift) will be deployed full-time during the A&A / construction period to oversee night works, coordinate site execution, and ensure all M&E works are completed on time, in compliance with design intent, contract specifications, local authority requirements, and client standards. The role supports project management, site supervision, testing and commissioning, contractor coordination, variation management, handover, and defects follow-up through the Defects Liability Period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate night-shift M&E works on site to ensure safety, quality, progress, and compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and employer requirements.
  • Act as the site-based M&E representative to administer contractor and subcontractor works, monitor progress, and promptly flag delays, clashes, risks, and deviations to the project lead/client.
  • Review and comment on shop drawings, material submissions, samples, method statements, mock-ups, test reports, and as-built drawings within the M&E scope.
  • Attend and coordinate site, technical, and progress meetings support selected daytime meetings when required by the client/project team.
  • Witness testing and commissioning, pre-inspections, RI/QP-related inspections, user acceptance testing, and final handover inspections for M&E systems.
  • Assist in variation orders, claims review, payment certification support, defect tracking, rectification follow-up, warranties/guarantees collation, and DLP inspections.
  • Maintain proper site records including drawings, specifications, change instructions, submissions, inspection records, and testing/commissioning documents.
  • Provide technical guidance to the resident/site supervision team and coordinate closely with client, consultants, contractors, RI/QP, QS, and specialist vendors.
  • Support Green Mark / energy management implementation, system performance monitoring, user training, and post-completion energy reporting where required.

Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related engineering discipline.

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in site supervision or project management roles in developer, consultant, contractor, or resident technical/site supervision environments.

Strong experience in A&A, fit-out, or building services works, including M&E coordination, contractor management, testing and commissioning, and handover.

Good understanding of local codes, authority processes, contract administration, and site execution practices in Singapore.

Able to work predominantly night shift throughout the construction / A&A period, with flexibility to attend selected daytime meetings when required.

Proven ability to manage design coordination, interfacing, technical clarifications, and administrative follow-up across multiple parties.
