The Logistics Executive is responsible for performing the full spectrum of logistics operations which includes obtaining quotation for freight and dispatch of goods, preparing CIPL/ DO, packing items for dispatch, and carrying out warehousing activities such as organizing materials on racks and labelling items. The role requires close collaboration with the Stores Executive to effectively divide and complete daily operational tasks.
Between the 2 of them, they need to divide the daily tasks and complete them seamlessly. The role involves regular interaction with internal teams such as Sales and Support, as well as with external freight forwarders, to ensure the timely and cost-efficient delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation Coordination:
- Plan, schedule, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, transporters, and courier companies.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues related to delivery delays or damages.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy of stock records.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to optimize storage and handling.
- Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee warehousing activities including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
- Ensure proper handling, labelling, and documentation of goods.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare shipping documents (e.g., invoices, CIPL).
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and other requirements.
- Vendor & Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with transporters, and other service providers.
- Negotiate rates and service terms to reduce costs.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify bottlenecks in the logistics process and suggest improvements.
- Implement cost-saving measures and increase efficiency.
- Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on logistics KPIs (e.g., delivery times, transport costs, inventory accuracy).
