The Level 1 IT Operator is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, identifying and resolving first-level faults, and maintaining overall operational efficiency. The role requires working in 12-hour rotating shifts, preparing detailed log reports, and consolidating monthly performance reports to support seamless communication and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor systems and equipment for abnormalities, ensuring continuous availability and performance.
- Execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to manage alerts and resolve first-level incidents.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Level 2 teams or appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic system faults, applying corrective actions to restore normal operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address recurring or critical issues.
- Maintain accurate, real-time operational log reports during shifts.
- Consolidate and prepare monthly reports summarizing operational metrics, fault trends, and resolutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact during shifts for updates, escalations, and notifications.
- Ensure effective handover of duties and information between shifts to maintain operational continuity.
- Adhere to organizational policies, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in periodic reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Prior experience in system monitoring, IT operations, or technical troubleshooting is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in monitoring and reporting tools.
- Effective communication skills for clear coordination, documentation, and escalation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a 24/7 operational environment.
Work Environment:
- Shift Pattern: 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night) to ensure 24/7 operational coverage.
