Legal Secretary / Paralegal (Family & Private Client)
Job Summary
Support lawyers in family law and private client matters, including cross-border cases between Singapore and China, by managing legal documentation, client communications, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient case progress and client service.
Responsibilities
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to lawyers handling family law, divorce, maintenance, custody, care and control, probate, estate administration, and related private client matters
- Communicate professionally with clients in English and Chinese to facilitate case discussions and updates
- Manage appointments, calendars, court dates, deadlines, and file tracking to ensure timely legal proceedings
- Prepare, format, proofread, and organise legal documents, correspondence, and court bundles for accuracy and compliance
- Liaise with clients, courts, opposing counsel, interpreters, and external service providers to coordinate case activities
- Handle filing, document management, billing support, and general office administration to maintain efficient office operations
- Support matters involving Chinese-speaking clients and cross-border issues by facilitating relevant communications and documentation
Requirements
- Experience in a law firm or legal environment is a bonus, but not required
- Entry-level candidates are welcome
- Polytechnic graduates and university fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
- Good command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken
- Able to communicate professionally with Chinese-speaking clients
- Organised, careful, and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced practice
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and general office administration
- Willing to learn and able to work both independently and as part of a team
