We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer (Mechanical) to oversee the design, operation, and maintenance of UPS systems, CRAC units, and other mission-critical infrastructure across multiple data center locations. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership ability, and a strong focus on reliability and efficiency in high-availability environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of UPS systems, CRAC units, and other critical infrastructure across various data center locations.
- Guide and supervise a team of technicians to ensure efficient and timely service delivery.
- Respond promptly to emergency requests to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
- Liaise with contractors for rectification and ad‑hoc works, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Track maintenance work, follow up on actions, and maintain accurate checklists, schedules, and reports.
- Advise and lead technical investigations for rectification works, ensuring proper resolution of issues.
- Be available for standby duty 24 x 7 to address urgent service needs.
- Review Risk Assessments (RA) and Method Statements (MOS) to ensure safe execution.
Requirements:
- Diploma or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering disciplines (degree preferred).
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in data center or critical facility operations, including hands-on work with UPS, CRAC, and building monitoring systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and coordinating with contractors and vendors.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking and reporting tools familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, mobile environment, responding flexibly to emergencies and traveling between sites.
- Valid Class 3 driving licence (priority requirement) for site travel and operational duties.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.
