L1 Network Engineer

We are looking for an L1 Network Engineer to provide first-level network support, monitoring, and troubleshooting for a banking client's IT infrastructure. The role involves monitoring network systems, resolving basic connectivity issues, managing incidents, and escalating complex issues to L2/L3 teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network infrastructure and respond to alerts and incidents.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting of network connectivity and performance issues.
• Support Cisco switching and routing infrastructure.
• Perform network checks, configuration activities, installations, and break/fix activities.
• Support BAU operations and network infrastructure projects.
• Monitor network performance and bandwidth and identify irregularities.
• Coordinate with L2/L3 engineers for advanced troubleshooting and resolution.
• Liaise with vendors for troubleshooting, RCA, and technical support.
• Work with end users to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
• Support internal change requests, including change reviews, downtime planning, and configuration activities.
• Provide access to vendors for network devices as required.
• Coordinate with implementation engineers and project managers for network deployments.
• Provide onsite technical and field engineering support when required.
• Gradually take ownership of assigned network installations, incidents, and problem-management activities.
