Job Description

Position Summary

The Key Account Executive / Assistant Manager isresponsible for managing and growing key modern trade and e-commerce accountsfor FMCG paper products. This role covers major retailers and online platformssuch as DFI Retail (Giant, Cold Storage), RedMart, Shopee, and Amazon. Theincumbent will drive sales growth, distribution expansion, promotionaleffectiveness, and operational excellence while building strong customer partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Account & Relationship Management

  • Manage relationship and account performance of key customers including DFI Retail (Giant, Cold Storage), RedMart, Shopee, Amazon, and other assigned accounts.
  • Act as the main point of contact for buyers and category managers on all commercial and day-to-day operational matters.
  • Build strong working relationships to support long-term partnerships and sustainable business growth.

Sales Growth & Business Development

  • Develop a deep understanding of each account's category, shopper behaviour, and business dynamics to identify opportunity gaps.
  • Drive growth in sales value, volume, and distribution for paper product ranges.
  • Execute joint business plans and account strategies to achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities for new product listings, range optimisation, and improved shelf or online visibility.

Trade Marketing & Commercial Execution

  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, trade terms, and in-store / online activities in line with company guidelines.
  • Plan and execute promotional activities including price-offs, multi-buys, displays, and online campaigns.
  • Monitor, manage, and track trade A&P (Advertising & Promotion) funds to maximise return on investment and efficient spend.
  • Coordinate closely with marketing and trade marketing teams on product launches and campaigns.

Operations & Forecasting

  • Handle day-to-day customer operational matters including order processing, promotion execution, issue resolution, and coordination with internal teams.
  • Prepare and manage monthly inventory demand forecasts in collaboration with supply chain and operations teams.
  • Ensure optimal stock availability to support promotions and avoid out-of-stock situations, especially for high-volume paper products.

Performance, Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Track sell-in, sell-out, inventory levels, and promotional effectiveness across accounts.
  • Monitor competitors pricing, promotions, assortments, and market activities within the paper category.
  • Keep abreast of industry and retail trends to identify risks and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates for management review.
  • Analyse market and competitor trends to refine account strategies.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with operations, supply chain, and marketing teams to ensure order fulfilment, inventory availability, and seamless execution of promotions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • Around 2-4 years experience in key account management, retail, or sales (especially in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce) is ideal.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Self-motivat independent, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive self-starter with strong ownership and accountability.

. Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Ability to analyse sales data and market trends.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable working with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive business outcomes.
