Junior Paralegal, (3 months Contract, Mandarin Proficiency)

Responsibilities:

  • Proofread, and format legal documents, contracts and summary, coordinate with internal clients to verify commercial terms for accuracy and completeness and assist in drafting basic legal documents under supervision.
  • Support the contract lifecycle by triaging requests to appropriate legal reviewers and managing both e-signature and manual execution processes. Ensure signatures are complete and authorized, and upload fully executed agreements promptly into the contract management system.
  • Conduct basic due diligence and fact-checking tasks to support legal matters and prepare summaries or reports as directed.
  • Help maintain regional entity filings and records, coordinate with internal teams on routine corporate updates, and ensure timely updates to the entity management system.
  • Learn and assist in the use of the contract management system help answer user questions under supervision on a regular basis.
  • Provide translation support (English/Chinese) and assist with reviewing translated documents.
  • Perform administrative and clerical tasks such as document filing, e-filing, documents submission, mails, and general coordination.
  • Take on other tasks or projects assigned to support the legal team and G&A.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or completed a degree in law, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. Prior experience working in a law firm or the in-house legal department of a multinational company performing similar duties is a plus
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin (Min. B3 in O levels Chinese or equivalent certifications) to liaise with local non-English speaking colleagues and business partners in China, to provide translation support and reviewing translated documents
  • Demonstrates professionalism and discretion, particularly when handling confidential information.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
