Job Title: Junior Data Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Junior Data Engineer to join our data team in Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and workflows
- Support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across databases and systems
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
- Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting data processing and integration issues
- Contribute to documentation and process improvements
- Learn and apply best practices in data engineering and software development
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Exposure to data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Basic knowledge of data visualization or analytics tools
