HR Director, SaaS Company

About the Company

We are a fast-growing SaaS business focused on building innovative technology solutions that help companies operate smarter and scale faster. As we continue our growth journey, we are looking for an experienced HR Director to build and lead a high-performing People function that supports our business, culture, and long-term growth strategy.

The Role

The HR Director will lead the company's People strategy across talent, performance, employee experience, organisational design, and operations. This role will partner closely with leadership to ensure the business can attract, retain, and develop top talent while building scalable HR processes and a strong company culture.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's People and HR strategy aligned to business goals
  • Partner with leadership on organisational planning, workforce strategy, and team structure
  • Lead and develop the HR / People team
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on people-related matters

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Oversee recruitment strategy and hiring processes across all functions
  • Support leadership hiring and succession planning
  • Build scalable hiring processes, reporting, and workforce planning frameworks
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to improve hiring quality, velocity, and candidate experience

Performance Management & Employee Development

  • Implement and manage performance review frameworks and goal-setting processes
  • Drive learning, development, and career progression initiatives
  • Support managers with coaching, feedback, and performance conversations
  • Build high-performance and accountability-focused culture initiatives

Employee Relations & Litigation Management

  • Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, investigations, and disciplinary processes
  • Partner with legal counsel on employment-related litigation, disputes, and compliance matters
  • Provide guidance on employment law, workplace risk, and HR governance
  • Ensure consistent and compliant handling of employee issues across the business
  • Support leadership through sensitive organisational and employee-related situations

Employee Experience & Culture

  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative company culture
  • Lead employee engagement, retention, and wellbeing initiatives
  • Develop programs that improve employee experience across the full lifecycle
  • Drive company values and behavioural expectations throughout the organisation

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee HR policies, procedures, and compliance across relevant markets
  • Ensure scalable HR operations, systems, and reporting processes
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and benchmarking initiatives
  • Use HR data and analytics to support business decisions and identify trends

Data, AI & Technology

  • Leverage HR technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and employee experience
  • Use people analytics and reporting to drive data-led decision making
  • Continuously improve HR processes through automation and technology adoption

Requirements

  • 8+ years of HR / People leadership experience, ideally within SaaS, technology, or high-growth environments
  • Proven experience scaling teams and building HR processes in growing businesses
  • Strong experience managing employee relations cases, investigations, and employment litigation matters
  • Experience partnering with internal and external legal counsel on workplace disputes and risk mitigation
  • Strong knowledge of talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and HR operations
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership and influencing business decisions
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using HRIS, ATS, and people analytics platforms
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting regional or global teams
  • Prior experience in a fast-scaling startup or VC-backed company
  • Exposure to AI-enabled HR technologies and automation tools
