Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Live Nation is launching a new, purpose-built mid-size live music venue in Singapore with a capacity of 3,000. Designed to host both international touring acts and local artists, as well as ancillary content such as comedy, community and private hire events. The venue will also feature secondary activation spaces and externally facing public café and bar.

The Head of Venue Operations will oversee all aspects of day-to-day venue operations, event planning, and delivery, ensuring seamless execution to the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and guest experience. During the mobilisation stage, this role will require the individual to build on Live Nation standards to establish processes, systems, and protocols ahead of opening, and drive continuous improvement through post-event analysis, industry engagement, and sustainability initiatives.

The Head of Operations is envisioned to have a team of 4 individuals including Event Management, Facilities Management, and Production Management, and therefore required to provide leadership and alignment across all operational functions. In addition, the individual is required to lead teams external contractors and casual staff to deliver Live Nation's global standards and create memorable experiences for artists, fans, event promoters and all other stakeholders.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee planning, coordination, and delivery of all events and venue activities to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ensure Front of House staffing, crowd flow, and public systems consistently meet safety and service standards.
  • Supervise live event delivery, aligning Front of House, Back of House, production, technical, and facilities teams for seamless operations.
  • Develop and maintain event policies, procedures, and public messaging in compliance with venue and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce clear post-event reports highlighting issues, resolutions, and opportunities for improvement to enhance future experiences for artists, fans, event promoters and all other stakeholders.

Production, Technical & Facilities Oversight

  • Oversee event builds, technical delivery, and load-outs in collaboration with promoters and touring crews.
  • Ensure logistics, backstage operations, and venue facilities meet industry standards, safety requirements, and compliance regulations.
  • Coordinate across production, front-of-house, technical, and ticketing teams to deliver seamless event execution.
  • Conduct pre-event checks and risk assessments to maintain operational readiness and address safety concerns.

Safety & Compliance

  • Lead the implementation and development of Command and Control for all events via a Control Room operation.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce Emergency Response, Evacuation, and Crowd Safety Plans in compliance with legislation, Live Nation standards, codes of practice, and venue policies.
  • Ensure staff, contractors, and vendors are trained and competent in emergency procedures, crowd flow management, and escalation protocols.
  • Conduct pre-event risk assessments and safety briefings, identify hazards, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Oversee incident management, including response, investigation, reporting, and post-event reviews, embedding lessons learned into future operations.
  • Collaborate with Live Nation Global Safety and Security teams to align local practices with international frameworks and reporting standards.
  • Liaise with local authorities and police to ensure compliance, seamless coordination from pre‑opening through operations, and effective response during events

Ticketing and Auxiliary Revenue

  • Oversee the operational delivery of ticketing arrangements, working with appointed ticketing agencies to ensure event hirers are effectively supported
  • Provide oversight and escalation support for ticketing-related operational issues managed by events team.
  • Oversee other ancillary operations, ensuring appropriate staffing, POS readiness, and service standards aligned with event needs.

Financial & Commercial Acumen

  • Experience preparing and managing event budgets, monitoring expenditures within approved budgets.
  • Collaborate with Finance teams to finalize accurate event settlements within required timelines.
  • Negotiate, manage, and oversee vendor contracts and relationships, ensuring cost efficiency, quality of delivery, and accountability.

Workforce Management & Training

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Event Operations team to ensure delivery of venue objectives and high team performance.
  • Own workforce strategy and oversight for casual staff, contracted personnel, and third-party vendor-provided event staff, with day-to-day management delegated to the Events Team.
  • Oversee recruitment, contracting, training, and rostering of event staff and contractors to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations.
  • Establish structured training programs for FOH staff, security, contractors, and suppliers, covering event procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
  • Partner with HR on workforce-related functions such as onboarding, training records, scheduling of FOH teams, security, first aid, and other event resources.

Performance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Own the end-to-end process of post-event analysis across KPIs, budgets, safety, and guest experience.
  • Evaluate metrics, feedback, surveys, staffing, and financials to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Convert insights into actionable recommendations that strengthen operational outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to embed efficiency, safety, customer satisfaction, and strong stakeholder relationships.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in event or venue management, with proven expertise in mid- to large-scale live events.
  • Strong leadership capability with proven experience motivating, mentoring, and developing staff, while effectively managing diverse teams, contractors, and event-day personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability in contract management and contractor oversight, ensuring accountability and service excellence.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (verbal and written), with exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate across diverse stakeholders, cultures, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with a broad range of promoters, organizers, and touring professionals.
  • Deep understanding of local event regulations, permitting processes, OH&S, and licensing requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of technical production requirements, venue operations, and live entertainment workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of concessions and merchandise operations, including POS systems.
  • Highly organized and adaptable, with outstanding attention to detail, the ability to manage shifting priorities, and composure under pressure.
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to anticipate risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Safety-focused mindset with crowd safety knowledge and experience considered an added advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with venue/event management software, scheduling tools, and logistics technology.
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of event budgets, cost control, and revenue opportunities.
  • Enthusiastic about live music and entertainment, with a passion for delivering exceptional event experiences.
  • Professional, confident, and calm under pressure, with high integrity, accountability, and commitment to excellence.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
