Job Description

Lead target identification and validation efforts in collaboration with Strategy & Networks and other internal functions.
Be accountable for the lead selection (Pre-R0 to R0), and contribute to non-clinical development (R1) in coordination with RDLs and related functions.
Set appropriate KPIs and manage them to measure and improve the performance of the Discovery Research function.
Be accountable for organizational and personnel development. Mentor the members to behave and exert leadership aligned with the Santen Values.
Optimize allocation of resources (budget, personnel) to maximize discovery output.
Improve business processes and infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency.
Enhance the scientific quality (especially pharmacology) of evaluations for external discovery-stage assets.
Endorse proposals and strategies to key decision-making bodies such as the Innovation Committee and Pipeline Creation Committee.
Foster a culture of innovation encouraging the exploration of new ideas and approaches while taking reasonable risks.
