Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement strategies for Research Development and Initiatives (RD&I) projects at Cladtek. Oversight of the full project lifecycle across three regions APAC, EMEA, and the Americas and work closely with engineering subject matter experts and internal and external key stakeholders, collaborating to set project milestones, assess risks and determine budgets are among other tasks. Strategize to sustain and enhance our position as a global leader in CRA Clad and Lined Pipe market through continuous innovation and new product development.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership Role (Manager Position)

  • General Leadership and managerial aspects:
  1. Sets short, medium and long term departmental goals & objectives based on Annual Cladtek Business Objectives & KPI.
  2. Develop strategy, monitor progress, and ensure that goals and objectives are achieved on time, within the approved budget and in compliance with the pertinent policy and procedures at Departmental Level.
  3. Drive & deliver change management as required to streamline & optimize operations, proactively align and strengthen operations efforts, systems, and personnel to suit the growth and development of the business and the drive for continual improvement.
  4. Builds and maintains good relationships and alignment with departments internally as well as externally with outside suppliers, contractors, and related government agencies to have smooth operation.
  • Organization and People Management:
  1. Review Organisation Chart quarterly and make sure a review and/or adjustment is made to meet with business objective.
  2. Monthly departmental manpower planning & identify critical position and retain the critical people.
  3. Review with HR Departmental salary structure, compensation and benefit, in order to attract and retain employee.
  4. Communicate with employee 6 weeks before employee's contract ends and communicate with HR the decision at the latest 2 weeks before end of contract.
  • Training & Competency Development:
  1. Review member's competency against performance expectation at departmental level.
  2. Validating training matrix and annual training plan.
  3. Provide or facilitate coaching & mentoring for member with the support from Training Team
  4. Perform as Guest Speaker to represent Cladtek Management (including corporate materials), Subject Matter Expert for business related subject, and/or Trainer for Technical & Soft Skill program.
  • Career & Performance:
  1. Identify successor for critical position and identify developmental areas.
  2. Provide clear objectives for member to perform and ensure the people to add it into PMS form.
  3. Initiate performance mid-year review, by reviewing the progress and the next target.
  4. Conduct performance closing communication and provide rating.
  • Behaviour & Discipline:
  1. Provide high level direction to ensure operational excellence and discipline are achieved.
  2. Provide warning (level 1 and 2) and/or counselling for direct member.
  3. Provide immediate and/or not immediate award and/or appreciation to strengthen positive behaviours.
  4. Review departmental collective behaviour with HR Industrial Relation and Policy to reduce people cases and optimize to policy to avoid negative behaviour to be occurred in the future.

Technical Role

  • Proficient in Cladded Welding Process and Cladded Spool Fabrication
  • Proficient in Mechanical Lined Pipes Manufacturing and it's related Standards
  • Proficient in Hot Induction Bending
  • Proficient in API5L, 5LC, 5LD, DNV,ISO3834
  • Proficient in Inspection: Destructive and Non Destructive.
  • Oversee the RD&I Project Management Office in collaboration with other local RD&I Project Managers and support the project leaders in properly progressing their initiatives as per thecorporate procedure.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to regional RD&I Project Managers, ensuring effective coordination, communication, and execution of RD&I projects across all regions.
  • Providing advice to the Management, Technical Committee and Cross Functional Team on all matters relating to RD&I activities, including their potential impact on service delivery and development.
  • Supports the RD&I Director in implementing the Cladtek Research Strategy.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, or external partners the details outlined Project Charter to integrate into project planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Manages and coordinates the day-to-day operations of RD&I activities within the regional premises. This involves planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budget management, and ensuring projects stay on track and documented in Project Charter.
  • Preparing a detailed project plan to schedule key project milestones, workstreams & activities.
  • Managing the delivery of projects according to the plan.
  • Tracking projects and providing regular reports to key stakeholders.
  • Managing and adjusting for any changes in project scope, schedule and/or budget.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Managing the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction.
  • Working with SME, TA and Business Development to assist the Sales team to develop new opportunities and product offerings.
  • Responsible for overseeing and maintaining knowledge management systems for given solutions developed with.
  • Representing Cladtek's research interest to external organizations, both locally and regionally, in both academic and industry sectors.
  • Actively promotes Cladtek's ongoing research efforts internally and externally.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum: Master degree in Engineering
  • Preferred: PhD in related fields
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Project Management/Similar function in Oil and Gas Industry
  • Minimum 7 years experience in leadership role.
  • Project Management qualification (equivalent Prince 2 Practitioner or PMP) is preferred.
  • Experience of interfacing milestone governed programmes, including in an Agile environment is preferred.
  • Prior proven knowledge and experience in project management
  • Relevant experience in public relations and working with academic and industry institutions or organizations.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and in an international environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Fluent/understand organization related tools and process.
  • Familiarity or proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Presentation, MS Project).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex and demanding environment with a high level of attention to detail.
