The General Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the food company's operations, including production, sales, quality control, financial performance, and people management. The role ensures the company delivers high-quality food products while maintaining profitability and compliance with industry regulations.
- Drive business growth by developing sales strategies, expanding market presence, and building strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key clients while identifying new opportunities and product lines
- Oversee end-to-end operations across production, supply chain, and distribution to ensure efficiency, optimise inventory and logistics, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
- Take ownership of financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, and cost management, with a focus on improving margins and sustaining revenue growth
- Uphold food safety and quality standards by ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining product consistency, and managing audits and corrective actions
- Lead, develop, and manage teams by setting clear performance expectations, driving capability building, and fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Support long-term business success by shaping strategic plans, analysing market trends and competitive landscape, and driving continuous innovation in products and processes
- Ensure compliance with applicable food regulations, licensing requirements, and workplace safety standards, while maintaining accurate documentation and timely reporting
The successful individual will demonstrate the following experience and competencies:
- Business Diploma or equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in the food industry in similar capacity
- Strong knowledge of food production, supply chain, and quality standards
- Proven financial and business management skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities
