JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the CEO and CFO, the incumbent is responsible for the overall planning, investment, business development, project management, reviewing and controlling of budget for the Asia Region. Key personnel to liaise with HQ for investment projects and presenting to Investment Dept for approval.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to plan, control, review and analyze monthly and annual budgets for the Asia and Oceania Region, with ongoing monitoring and control conducted on a monthly basis. Asia and Oceania Region - Singapore, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, Papua New Guinea and other new developed markets within the region.
  • Working actively with the Business Units and being accountable for the development team in driving new business opportunities and investments.
  • Conduct business development meetings or activities on a daily basis with business team leads across various departments. Various business units - Chemicals, Foodstuffs, Infrastructure and Machinery, Aviation, Renewable Energy, and Healthcare.
  • Ability to project manage various tasks, such as leading the development ofbusiness performance management tools and measurement systems to facilitate andsupport corporate performance improvement. Managing of various projects and investments simultaneously, ensuring that all due diligence and compliance are met in coordination with relevant department. Closely monitoring schedules to ensure the smooth execution of projects and investments.
  • Frequent business trips and possible relocation across the Asia and Oceania region, as well as the ability to handle and manage projects on short notice. Travel frequency will vary depending on business requirements and project phases. During intensive periods, travel may be significant and, in some months, may approach or exceed approximately 40% of the time to countries where projects or investment are located.
  • Gathering information, preparation of materials necessary for meetings attended by Managing Director on a daily basis. Market intelligence, business acumen and market information in preparation to support the preparation of new investment, including updates on market trend and business opportunities.
  • Ability to execute business strategies aligned with corporate policies, incorporating international trading industry trends, market analysis, and factual insights to support the Managing Director`s decisions.
  • Experience in management strategy, market analysis, and business planning to formulate strategies based on the macroeconomic environment of countries in Asia, including market trends, economic growth, industrial trends, and political trends. Such strategies are to be reviewed annually and revised as necessary.
  • Supporting the development of governance and management systems at each subsidiary within the Asia and Oceania region. Conducting ongoing reviews of established systems and streamlining and improving governance and management policies and processes where necessary.
