Role Summary
Lead end-to-end transport operations (line-haul, distribution, last-mile) to achieve safety, service, and profit targets. Own the P&L, build high-performing teams, optimise fleet utilisation, and ensure compliance with LTA, WSH and MOM requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & P&L
Develop yearly transport strategy, budgets and cost-to-serve models.
Own P&L for transport drive margin, cost savings, and network efficiency. - Operations Management
Plan and oversee daily routing, scheduling and dispatch for on-time delivery.
Balance in-house fleet vs 3PL/sub-contractors set SLAs and monitor performance. - Fleet & Assets
Set policies for preventive maintenance, repairs and replacement manage fuel and telematics to reduce downtime and incidents.
Ensure proper licensing, road tax, COE, insurance and vehicle documentation. - Compliance, Risk & Safety
Enforce WSH policies, incident reporting, driver hours management and fatigue control.
Ensure compliance with LTA regulations, load limits, ADR (if applicable), and PDPA for driver/consignee data. - Customer & Service Quality
Meet customer SLAs (OTD, DIFOT, POD accuracy). Lead service recovery and continuous improvement. - People Leadership
Build and mentor a team of transport managers, planners, controllers and drivers.
Workforce planning, recruitment, training, performance reviews and incentive schemes. - Systems & Data
Implement and optimise TMS/WMS, GPS/IVMS, e-POD and route optimisation tools.
Use dashboards to drive decisions (utilisation, cost per drop, dwell time, exceptions). - Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Procurement and Finance manage key suppliers and 3PL partners. - Continuous Improvement
Lead Lean/Kaizen projects to cut empty runs, improve cube/weight utilisation and reduce turnaround time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Logistics/Supply Chain/Business (Diploma with strong experience acceptable).
- 10+ years in transport/logistics with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven P&L ownership and large-scale transport network management.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore regulations (LTA, WSH, MOM) dangerous goods experience is a plus.
- Hands-on with TMS/route optimisation, telematics and e-POD.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Class 3/4 licence advantageous.
